ENTRY SUBMISSION THREAD
IMPORTANT:
>> DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD UNLESS YOU ARE SUBMITTING YOUR FINAL ENTRY. <<
>> IF YOU DO NOT POST YOUR ENTRY IN THIS THREAD, YOUR ENTRY WILL NOT BE JUDGED. <<
>> ALL ENTRANTS MUST POST A LINK TO THEIR PROJECT'S THREAD HERE BEFORE 10PM EST, ON SATURDAY, MARCH 31ST, 2012. <<
>> IF YOU POST YOUR ENTRY SUBMISSION HERE, IT WILL BE FINAL: YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MODIFY YOUR GAME OR THREAD AFTER THIS. <<
>> All non-submission posts should be directed to the contest's main thread, the judging thread, or any other appropriate thread. <<
TEMPLATE FOR SUBMISSION:
If you are 100% ready to have your submission judged, and there is nothing else you need to alter about it, and you definitely will not be updating your game or your thread during judging, then please copy the below form, fill it out, and post it in this thread.
Do not post it elsewhere. Do not post questions. Do not post ANYTHING but the filled-out form. Do not modify the form or the bbcode of it, either.
See the example entry submission below to know what your entry should look like.
Note: The "short sentence describing your game" field will be used in the popular vote poll, so make it good & trite!
If you did not make a 350x19px signature userbar for your entry, we will make a very simple one for you. This will be the link to your game in the popular poll, and in the contest announcement header. So you may want to make sure it looks nice!
Again: Copy the below form, fill it out, and paste it into your post (it's inside the Code spoiler):
Code:
[b]Your member name: [/b]
[b]Your project name: [/b]
[b]URL to your entry thread: [/b]

[b]If you are under 18, do you have your parents permission to receive winnings, should your entry win? (N/A if over 18): [/b]

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, LEGAL JARGON, AND OTHER BORING FINER DETAILS:
When I see your submission post, the thread's original post you direct me to will be copied and pasted (with bbcode) into the secret Judging forum, as-is. That way, if you modify it during judging, it will not affect what the judges see.
If you think you may be able to sneak in an update or two to your game after submitting your entry, don't try it. I will be running update-checks on random files before play-testing.
If your game's last update timestamp is marked any later than March 31st, your submission will be disqualified.
Please refrain from doing any updates or modifications to your game or thread's original post until after judging is complete. You will still be more than allowed to post, or have others post, in your game's thread, however, so don't worry about that.
Additional marketing attempts made after March 31st will not count towards your formally judged Marketing score, however you are encouraged to continue marketing and hyping your entry, even if only to garner public votes.
The public vote will begin on April 1st and will end in the evening (EST) on April 5th.
All times related to the contest are in EST (Eastern Standard Time). Late submissions will not be accepted, even on the grounds of being in a different time zone. [Link to a time converter to check relative times to you.]
If you are under age 13, you will not be able to win any prizes. Sorry, them's the rules .
If your entry is placed 12th through 4th, a PM will be sent to you on April 6th, asking which email address we should send the free license of C2 to. If you do not want the free license for yourself, give us an email address of someone else who wants it. If you don't want it and don't know of anyone else who wants it, reply to that PM & let me know, and I will find someone else. Won C2 licenses are not exchangeable for anything else.
If your entry is placed 3rd through 1st, you will get the PM noted above. In addition, you will be asked which brand of gift certificate you will want (your choice between Steam, ThinkGeek, NewEgg, or Amazon). Additional information will then be needed, based on what vendor you choose (it varies, per vendor--usually just an email address or member name is needed). This information will be kept confidential, and be seen only by me, as I am filling out the certificate information. I will not save or use this information in any way, nor will it be shared with anyone. Because that would be shitty and retarded.
Country restrictions apply to some vendors. All vendors are guaranteed to ship to or work with United States residents, but if you live in another country, it will be your responsibility to verify that the vendor you choose will work with residents of your country.

If you choose a vendor, and we buy & send you your certificate, but you realize you cannot use it, it is no longer our responsibility, and cannot exchange the certificate for another vendor.
If you decide that, after submitting your entry, you want it to be pulled from the competition, PM me and tell me so. I urge you not to bow out, but it is your right to do so.
HBGames' staff will never redistribute your game outside of the secret judging subforum without your consent. We will also not share your decompiled .capx file, should we request it for judging verification. All threads & posts from the secret judging subforum which are not later put into other public forums will either be deleted or placed in admin-only archives.
About a week after winners are announced, all game project threads in the C2 Contest forum will be moved to the Completed Games subforum. If you wish for it to be moved elsewhere after-the-fact, tell a staff member to move it.
Please do not take issue or be offended by judgments that are made. All judges will be thoroughly instructed and will make every attempt possible to make unbiased opinions. Judge discussion threads/posts will not be shared publicly, to ensure that the judges are able to speak freely about negative points, without worrying about guilt or offending anyone.
If you believe there has been some foul play in judging or if you feel your entry was judged unfairly, and have some form of evidence or reasoning as to why you feel this way, PM me and we can discuss the matter further. Again, however, the judges will be make their true and honest effort to score your entry as fairly as they can.
The confines of the Free edition of Construct 2 are as follows: No more than 100 events, No families, No more than 4 layers used.
Should you win, it may take from 1-7 days for your prize to be delivered to you. If you do not receive your prize by April 14th, PM me and I'll try to figure out what went wrong. Don't forget to keep checking your PM inbox, and your Junk folder of your email inbox, just in case.
HBGames is not responsible for games created with the licenses they give out, nor for the purchases made with the given gift certificates. We are also not responsible for any damages that may be caused because of the submissions or outcomes of this contest. I don't know what damages could ever possibly happen because of this contest, but it seems like a good idea to slap some legal jargon there.
Remember: We love you.
