I have been staring at this screen for a few moments trying to work out what would be a succinct and dramatic, yet completely apt way to start a topic reintroducing yourself after having slipped off the face of the rmxp world for over a year. Ready? Wait for it...!
Hi.
And "Hello again" to all of my old friends, old enemies, and people I have a vague sense of fondness or prehaps apathy about. I know that you have all spent the last year wondering where I went, and if I would ever come back - it was all you ever talked about and your entire worlds began to grind to a halt: I shall therefore put you out of your misery.
I died.
It was not permanant (obviously), but rather unpleasant to say the least, and not something I want to repeat again in a hurray (Although technically it is the third time in my life I've died or been on the cusp of death so someone out there obviously isn't doing their job properly. Not that I'm complaining.). And obviously this was overstating it somewhat, but I hope I now have your attention for the more boring bits.
Basically, as some of you might vaguely remember, and I won't flatter myself pretending that you do, the September before last I was accidently run through with a fencing sword by some annoying little snort who joined the fencing club of which I am a part. Because of the whole skewing issue amongst other things, I ended up on antibiotic-druggy stuffs for the next six months. I went to a party, and got my non-alcoholic drink mixed up with a friend's alcholic drink which had also apparently been spiked by the nice friendly man who had spent the evening chatting her up. Not a nice combination.
But that's not where I've been for the entire year... you see... I... uh... forgot. ._.
I kept coming back, but not signing in, having forgotten my details, blah blah blah blah blah... and then I did come back once or twice but never posted and forgot.
And then I thought that I'd come back after I had a good solid working demo of my project. Obviously that didn't work out too well either.
Then finally I decided that I would come back, the very next Sunday... last October. And it's been that way ever since.
So I'm here, now, making an "Hello again" topic in the hope it will commit me firmly to being here, and doing stuff and making friends (enemies and people about whom I am vaguely fond or apathetic about) and finishing my project. I've been planning to do more work on that the very next Sunday too...
