Black Cape [Symphonic Rock/Metal]

I don't do these types of music often, but here's a short rock/metal-esque song I just finished:

"Black Cape"
Composed by and (c) 2009 Kan [reives] Gao

Still trying to get a hang of the rock/metal style. This song has a rather sudden ending as it stands now; I do have plans to extend it in the future. c:

Thanks for your time!

Well... it's very good. But I wouldn't go as far as saying that it's rock... OR metal. It sounds great though!

Keep it up. Do you have a library somewhere? I'd like to listen to all your stuff. And do you mind people using it?

Thanks. I don't have a real collection right now, although I suppose the closest would be the folders in Quintessence. As for usage, it depends on the piece; if it's in Quintessence OST, then it's private, however Lullaby and The Mirror Lied themes are available for use. As for this piece, sure, it can be used for non-commercial projects. c:

I thought it categorized as symphonic rock though? I'm pretty new to these types though so I'm half guessing, heheh. If it's not, what genre is it?

You know, it honestly could very easily be considered that. I guess I wasn't really thinking of it like that... If that makes sense. At the moment, I was actually searching for like... battle music with electric guitars and drums, and when I came across yours, lol, I guess it just wasn't what I expected. Like taking a drink of water and thinking it's Sprite or 7 up. EWWW. But water's great when you take a gulp while expecting the cool refreshing liquid. lol

I'm going to save that song, just in case. Thanks, Reives! ;)

hm. its got some great mojo goin on, but it sounds kinda thin. it probably needs a guitar if you'd like it to be more along the lines of symphonic rock/metal. you certainly nailed the gothic metal string sound, too. :}
