I attended the Ska Concert in the Hampton Beach Casino, New Hampshire.
The three biggest ska bands were there, Reel Big Fish, Less than Jake, and Streetlight Manifesto were there. Thats a trio that means Best Concert Ever.
Not only are all 3 of those bands my favorite, they're all in one place, live.
I had a blast, this was the first concert I ever attended. I was in the pit for most of the play, and my glasses got knocked off and crushed. But luckily, my frame is the super kind where they don't bend easily, and my thick thick lenses were super scratch resistant.
What ended up happening was a bent frame that can be easily fixed, and a really gashed up right lense (it fell out when the frame hit the ground). The crowd was all over the place looking for my glasses and lense when they saw me groping the ground for them.
Two random people picked out by Less than Jake in the audience french kissed on stage.
Whats amazing is that when bands go on tour, they usually follow a set routine. Play these songs with this intro.
Less than Jake? They called up people to "Spin the wheel", which chose a random album, and LtJ played songs from that. Totally random.
I bought Reel Big Fish's new album, and got it signed by the band's lead singer, Aaron Barette!
A 5-6 hour show with a bunch of friends, I also met at least 4 or 5 more people I knew who were all also going to the show. The ocean breeze was nice, it was cool and has that great salty air smell.
Totally worth the eye glass damage, the moshes (my teeth met someone's shoulder blade in the first few minutes), and the 3.50 USD 20 oz coke.
If you're into ska, and missed any of their tour area's, I feel bad for you.
