CHARACTER REQUESTS
1: RRDM- Albel Nox character.
2: Accepting

HOW TO REQUEST

As you noticed from above, I am accepting requests from time to time at my own discretion.
To have your even considered, you must...
A) Post a reasonable description, possibly with some sort of reference picture.
B) Perhaps Some sort of Reference picture, however this is not necessary if you have a thorough description.
C) Setting the character is in(future/fantasy)[Can help with me adding anything to character]
D) The Request list(In spoiler Above) Says "Accepting"
E) Reserve right to display among other resources here(unless specifically requested not to)
F) I will try my best to sprite originally, however if I can serve a purpose, faster and easier through sprite editing, I will.

I am always looking for critic on my wip items so please help me make the best sprites for VX as possible.
thank you.

It looks like a temple interior, not a spaceship.

The floor tiles at the bottom of the stairs lack definition/depth enough to tell they are on the floor...

The tiles themselves are pretty good for the most part though - love the ceiling autotile.

It would be easier to critique if you posted the actual tileset, or at least save the screenshot as a png file. Jpegs distort the image.

Thanks Sonata
ive modified the screen in png.
I think Ive added more depth as mortimer cool suggested.

ideas of what objects to add would be great, perhaps some sci-fi references.

The wall tiles seem flat to me. Maybe by making them a bit darker as it gets closer to the ground will fix it. It will also make the tiles you used that door(?) look more like a part of the actual floor. As for objects you could add, how about a floating sphere, emitting light? Maybe floating cameras for 8 different directions?

Other than that, I like the tileset so far.

I agree about the walls. It's hard to tell where your walls start and your floor ends for where near the dorr which I didn't realise to be such because it looked like some sort of dent in the wall. Mostly because I initially saw the tiles as part of the wall... silly me.

Anyway two things you should add on top of Tass' ideas is to include some sort of eye-scanner device for next to doors, after all how many Sci-fi movies don't have something along these lines?
Secondly those black screen things are dull as just black. Try making little coloured smbols scroll across them!

Oh yeah and another idea, try something like a hexagon shaped floor tile-thing that can be a stand on sensor lift! Just for something cool! :shades:
Also while the general design to your walls is facinating the walls are still walls. Try some sort of built in computer or maybe an x-ray mirror! Weird and amusing things can often be highly effective in creating a high tech environment.

Other than that it's pretty good!
For a VX tileset! :tongue2:

I think u should add some flashing lights or something. Or make the walls autotiles with some sparkles wich run through these electric cable like lines...

Hope u understand what I mean, my english isn't the best...
(But my english grades were much better than my german grades as I was in school^^)

Much better! One thing though you should make each panel thing appear only when you walk past it, like a motion sensor activation... I love motion sensoring!
(It kind of looks like your doing just that though!)

The tables are a nice touch but they still need something on them! I was going to add floating tables, though my concept was more little floating circular tables that hover from place to place "being of assistance."

Also just a prod for a follow up tileset you should have a futuristic non-organic plant room thing. A touch of greenery always adds a nice feeling!

Also for a futuristic tileset I doubt the steps would be cracked in appearance. They would be straight edged by cliche. Also since you have steps shouldn't you extend the walls up an extra tile that are below the steps in the map to give the illusion that the player just went down! (did that make anysense?)

Also add a tad of shading to the bottom of your door so it fits with the walls appropriatly! :thumb:

thanks for your comments everyone, keep them coming and I will keep adding it to the tileset.

Oh motion sensoring does sound good, I believe I'll need a characterset to do that. The circular tables and my tables im not happy with, because they seem more like an "earthy" concept. Perhaps something more technological and weird.

The steps I wanted this way because spaceships don't all look brand new, I wanted them to feel "used".
Yes and Ill admit, I suck at mapping lol, thanks for pointing that out the wall height thing.

I will fix the door, but that's a character set and I only had chance for tileset stuff first. Will do though.

I plan to addm ore cubic objects rather than spherical ones in this ship. Cubes seem more alien to me, I dont know just me. lol.

More soon...

Looks rly good, but what is this... oh... mhh... "thing" on the table? :D First time I scrolled down, it was a lil bit blurry and looked like a green... mmhh I think you know what I mean :D

But I rly like it how it looks like at the moment. Keep up the great work!

The perspective of the lower part of the cubic thingy is off; you should probably extend the lowest lines a bit more to the back. The same problem with those green cubes on the table, it looks a bit odd, but that's probably just because of the angle it is lying on that table.

Nice work so far, though.

i think it looks pretty dam good but i think its suited more for a less graphical game. Jusging by the quality of some of the areas i think that if people (or yourself) are going to use this for a game then they should also use different char-sets that are tailored for that sort of quality... if you know what i mean

They are slightly better, true, but it hasen't completely solved the perspective issue. I tried to cut out the sprite and edited it for you, to show you what I mean.

As you can see, I've extended it even more, to create the illusion it curves back to the center (it doesn't, of course, there is no real 3d in it). Oh, an idea for the cube: How about letting the upper part rotate?

Nice work so far  :thumb:
