Strain
I wanted to create a fast paced battle song for my rmxp project, this is the result. It's both busy and quite hectic, but that was my intention as well.
Heh, I think I got a bit too creative from the mid-song and out, as it got a lot more pop/skate punk feeling to it than I originally had in mind.

I think it's a bit hard for a normal battle...decrease the volume and erase some of the e-guitar sounds and take some other like piano or sth.

There really isnt a sense of variation. The same melody is constant, which isnt always bad, but in this case is rather an annoyance. Try making cadences here and there and switch up which instrument holds the melody's dominance.

It sounds certainly like a boss theme or a hard-rock dungeon or somewhat.

It's a shame you didn't like it. I've tried changing out some of the instruments, but they ended up sounding terrible as the sound library in Guitar Pro 5 really can't handle songs with this pace very well. I don't know why, but when using the midi sounds and not the standard RSE sound files I experience a lot of delay when I use them along with some of the RSE sound files.

Normally I like to mix things up a lot more, but since the song is pretty short I figured it was OK as it is. I don't think battle themes are supposed to attract too much attention, although I could have added more variation.

Also, it's not for a rmxp project, but if you could, I'd love some feedback on a song in progress:

I do agree with you on the suggestions you made. I'm still developing as a songwriter. At this point I'm better at making songs with vocals in mind, than straight up intstrumental ones.

Anyone had the chance to check out the other song I submitted?

Thanks RC! Hehe, I do enjoy making guitar driven songs.

The songs I record and actually play myself is of better quality than these. Although, Guitar Pro is a nice tool for songwriting, the songs you make end up sounding very digitilized.
