I just finished a new song today. I think this would work well as a battle theme. It's midi format just like my other songs. You can use this in your game, just give credit to pzanno.

Another great one, I like this one more than I did your other one I commented on. This one flows well and has a really memorable melody to it. I agree that it could be a battle, and I like how you don't loop stuff too much; there's a lot of variation away from the main theme. Good flow into where the music cuts out and you just have the base and one instrument. No critiques here!

Thanks for the comment! It means a lot coming from a talented composer like you. I seem to be able to put together better battle songs then orchestrated character/game themes... I just don't have the knowledge of how to piece together an entire orchestra yet, but it's definitely fun trying

Beautiful work. Not what I'd call a battle theme though, maybe a song that plays during exploration of a more dangerous area, pre/post battle.

I've been trying to turn this into an MP3 via Fruity Loops, and if I get something I like I'll release it here if anyone's interested.

midi files are super super easy to work with in fruity loops, just open it and it puts all your notes in a piano roll then you just load samples, youll have to redo the drums tho

Thanks Gluch666 for the advice. I've been working on it for awhile now, and I've got something I like. Now I just need to find a place to host it. I tried box.net but that didn't work for me... the sign up page was broken. Once I find a place I'll upload it and post a link here...

Oh, and you don't have to redo the drums if you find a good soundfont patch that you like, but I'd say that it's better to redo the drums b/c you can get a much richer quality than if you go with a soundfont. I especially like the drum loops in fruity loops that you can slice up! :P

drum loops you can slice up? when did they add that, im still using 3.56 lol, when i do breakbeats, which i fail at currently...just dont have any good amens, probably my biggest downfall with breaks.. i just use the granulator and use (so far crappy) samples, set the start time and use notes to carry the length i want the sample to loop. i need to master the art of manual breakbeats. it just sounds so much cleaner than samples imo.

yeah, i've got the latest FL, you can slice up some drum loops... This is basically the first time i've tried it. Let me know what you think of em. I uploaded my mp3 to wikiupload.com
