Battle systems

Hey, I'm new to the whole battle system altering and was hoping someone could help me. I want to make RMXP into a real-time battle sequence like the older legend of Zelda games. I know people have probably asked about this before but I was hoping, if you're not to busy, you could explain it to me. Thanks, Whitemist.

You're looking for an Action Battle System (ABS) which is not basicly integrated in the RMXP.
You have to use special scripts to enable such a battle system.

Try looking in "Script Analysis". Simply search for "ABS" and you will find some battle systems.

I would recommend Blizzard's ABS to you. It is easy to cofigurate and doesn't need extra sprites
for all battle animations (but you can add them if you want.)

Take care,

Oh lol well...I checked the other forums and all it is is downloading other peoples games, I just want to get like...a script so I can still make my own game but with the ABS...Any suggestions?

Have you tried downloading their demo, and then just copy the scipt data?

When you download their demo, go to their demo and go to files, there search for the Script data.
Now, copy it.
And now just make a new project, and then replace it's script data with the script data you just copied.

Hope i helped.

It depends on your skill level with creating sprites. XAS will end up looking better because of its fancy appearance overall but you'll need to make sprite poses for each attack. Blizz ABS can use the normal RTP standard pose so its better for new comers. There's also the option of NeoABS with the new SBABS add on if you want to make the game have more then 1 character for that type of battle system. Neo and Blizz both use standard or the animated versions but in my opinion, XAS still looks and comes better.

XAS is not a beginner's tool. Not even close. If you can't sprite, you're screwed. If you can't script shit, you're screwed.
I speak from personal experience.

I'm having weird stuff when I try to use Blizz ABS, but I'm not using that, so it doesn't matter.

Generally, I think that maybe blizz or Mr.Mo's ABS are the easier ones, but I haven't thoroughly examned all of them, so what do I know?

I've tried all of them, and I like Blizz's best, although I just can't do the ABS type games, period. I've tried Mr. Mo's and Prexus', and I can't even get the battle system to activate. Don't even get me started on XAS  .
