Battle Formula Tool: Algxel

Hey there! I'm Chartley, from rpgmaker.net. A while ago I whipped up this spread sheet to deal with Rpg Maker VX's battle formulas, because they are other wise very confusing and require a lot of testing. You must have Excel installed to use it. Essentially, the spread sheets allow you to calculate physical damage and skill damage simultaneously for all levels.

For an idea of what it looks like:

Or, Download it: http://www.mediafire.com/?dmdmgi2mwoc

If you want more information, a readme is included in the zip file, also displayed below. Or you can email me at chartley1988@gmail.com. Cheers!

ALGXEL VX

------------------
What is Algxel VX?
------------------
Algxel VX is a spreadsheet used to determine Attack or Skill damage in Rpg Maker VX.
It does this by using the same algorithms used in Rpg Maker VX. Keep in mind that
this generator does not take into account any other special attributes, such as
elemental properties or defense modifiers.

--------------------
How to use the sheet
--------------------
The only data that must be entered is on the first sheet, labeled "General Information".
The data that must be entered are the black cells. Keep in mind that you do not have
to enter all the data for every level of the heroes all at once. I recommend filling
out the stats a couple levels at a time as your game reaches new stages. If you wish
to view or change the spreadsheet structure, you will have to unlock the sheets. You can
do this with the password: rpgmaker.net.

----------
Extra Info
----------
The worksheet should be self explanatory to use, but if you do need any help with anything,
let me know! Send any questions or comments to chartley1988@gmail.com. Cheers :)

Holy crap this is an amazing idea

You, sir, have just won my heart.

I would like to have some kind of slope entry/support though, so I wouldn't have to enter every level's worth of data. Any way you could do this?

As someone who knows nothing about programming, I don't see a way. I'm not a programmer so I have no idea if the data can be directly dumped from the editor or not, but that would be nice wouldn't it? It is a lot of work to enter the stats, but I think it does save time in the long run because it cuts back on a lot of testing.

To make it more bearable, I suggest entering stats for only a few levels at a time as you progress.
Thanks for the feedback!

Chartley

I would totally make one for RMXP, but I don't understand the algorithms to begin with. The help file doesn't explain them well and I haven't found a source that makes sense of them yet.
