Battle Animations

I've been a big user of Rpg Maker for the past 8 years or so, and I recently got RPG maker XP. I really like it so far, but I was doing some searching on youtube for videos of popular RPGMXP projects and I saw a video from a mr. Charlie Fleed. The battle animations in the video look really... really good. His health bars and SP bars look great, he has little portraits of each one of his characters... the characters move and breath (as well as the enemies) in between turns... And then I look at my game.

I have 4 pictures of some losers at the bottom of my screen and they LIGHT UP when I attack... WUUUU!

I was just wondering... how would I make something that looks that amazing?
I know a considerable amount of RPG maker stuff, like switches/move routes/animations/etc... but I've never really went too far into the battles. And I really want to make an amazing game... any advice?

I think what you are looking for is an "animated sideview battlers"-script.

One of XP's strongpoints is that it lets the user change part of the code to create custom systems, for example change the way battlers are displayed.

Hope this helps

Yea... damn it, I know I'm a noob by saying this... but I don't really know about scripts... is there a good resource website to get sideview battlers at?

I've been using rpgmaker forever but I've never really delved too deep into all the technical stuff... although I should have. So certains things like scripts and variables, I don't know anything about.
Single, batch, set, add, sub, mul, div, mod, constant, variable, random, item... WHAT???
My brain hurts...

Most scripts you find are just going to be "plug and play" which means you just need to open the script editor in RMXP and put them in before MAIN (most scripts explain all this as well).

Just run a quick search here on the forums, there are a few great scripts. One that comes to mind is Atoa's new sideview system. You should check it out. Here's the link:
