Alright everyone, so I've whipped up a public animation package for anyone who wants to use them. UNFORTUNATELY ... I've Yet to find a functioning photoshop script that will allow me to get the to alpha channels just right so you'll have to suffer with blending until i work that out... My apologies.

Moving on: here is what one will find in this package:

  • Casting animations for Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Electric, Ice, Light, Darkness, and Healing
  • 4 animations for fire
  • 4 animations for Ice
  • 4 animations for water
  • 4 animations for electric
  • 4 animations for wind
  • 4 animations for earth
  • 4 animations for light
  • 4 animations for darkness
  • 4 animations for healing
  • 2 animations for Revive/life
  • 1 animation for "use Item"

Here's my File Front. I've never used it before so I .. think this is what you need

It's Animation Package 1

http://www.drackir.com/angelfox/files/anim.zip This is a demo project of how they animate courtesy of Neonyo. Everyone say "thank you Neonyo"

commentary, criticism, suggestions welcome, otherwise enjoy

Edit: Oh yes one warning: they're all very 1-use animation, in other words not like, say the default packages that have allot of different applications. These, unfortunately, have 1 intended look and one alone, however if I were to toot my own horn i'de say they look nice.

Of course. Where would you prefer?

The package is 74 megs in size (yes i know... that's huge) so It would have to be a site that will support that.

70MB is pretty big, but you just saved me a lot of looking around, so thanks. Once I get it, I'll give feedback, but it was nice of you to gather all those up for people.

I like how they look, would like to see an example, always mess up how they work, but since u made them u know how you imagine thm being played out. THink u could put something together for us?

They're all easy to use, although some of them are extremely flashy for the level of magic they're set at. You described certain ones to make them more powerful then they seem. For example the Dark2 spell seems a little over the top for the second spell you'd learn. Other then that they're very nice. I love particle effects, and you used them just right.

I'll make a sample project or something later

About the flashy thing: well yes I'm a little bit of a fan of overly flashy effects. Yes, not all of them fit a basic 1-2-3-4 level idea though you're right. I'll probably release another package and fill in some gaps at a later time.

Hehe, well that would be nice. Its just a few certain ones are like "summon-quality spell" flashy. Like Dark4 is insanely powerful looking, barely looks like a skill that would be used commonly.

Light 4 is incredible. 200 frames, mate?

Ark of Final Fantasy 9 would be proud. (Only people who have played FF9 could possibly understand that completely.)

However, in some of the effects, the left side is messed up a little, as if part of the frame next to it is spilling into the side.

Finally, what would you say is the best percent size for these to make them cover the entire screen perfectly?

They are really nice, but some of them get cut off by the edges. I like Wind 2, but the wind disappears beyond the frame. I guess it works if Its at full screen.

Yes the ones that cut off at full screen are intended to to be displayed big so that they don't do that ... I thought that was obvious I guess but then again I made them

Is it normal that the animation pictures have a black background???? Or must this normal shown transparent?

No it's not normal. It will work if you keep the animation's set to Blend: Normal but if u set them to "none" or off or whatever it is the black shows up and it screws things up. I use a photoshop script to arrange all the frames into sheets but it does not support alpha channels soooo i have problems like this =\ I'm trying to find a better script that doesn't do that but until I do ... you'll have to tough it out :( I'm sorry.

I really like these Mascarpone but what do I have to do so they look less transparent, for example I made dark four and everything (I put them at 345% zoom) but when it played out in battle I could barely tell what was going on, I showed it to my brother and he was like "what exactly is it?", I'm not much of an animator what do I do so it looks less transparent?

Testing them out and they look great, just fixing them up in battle now

EDIT:Animation
This is just the Animation data, all you have to do is create a few game, replace the old on wih this, and make sure you have all the animation in the right folder. It was fast work just shows ya what they look like in action.
