Barack's Grandmother passes away a day before Election Day...

I have just heard about this on the news. Apparently Barrack Obama's Grandmother, the lady who raised him to the man he is today, just recently passed away a day before the election day due to cancer.

To me it is just sad, and to Obama it must be horrible because he won't have any time to mourn because he is currently so busy. And I have a good feeling that McCain and his promotionalist will try to use this against him as well.

I personally don't think that Obama's... hmm... "leadership" for lack of a better word, will change. But what do you guys think will become of this.

I don't think the McCain campaign is low enough to use someone's recently deceased grandmother against them. I'd hope not, at least. This is some unfortunate timing, but at least the campaigning is pretty much over -- when the election starts in earnest tomorrow, he'll have a little less on his plate, and hopefully he'll have the time to mourn. The funeral itself shouldn't be for another little while, and I don't think that it conflicts with presidential duties (if all goes well) too much to attend the funeral of the woman who raised you. If George W. Bush can find time to tapdance on the stairs to the White House, Barack Obama is sure as hell within his rights to pay his respects.

Well the I have seen McCain commercials and sadly to say I am sick with how low he swoops and how much he and Palin exaggerate and stretch to get a point across. Such as constantly trying to scare people by his friends and even small matters such as his middle name.

Also I find it disgusting how McCain/Palin constantly claim themselves as Evangelical/Rightous people and call Obama an elitest. When in reality McCain lives in several houses, owns many cars, is on his second marriage, and most of this and his campaign money was funded by a scandal he participated in awhile back. Palin isn't much better by forcing her teenage daughter to marry the father of her baby.

And at this they STILL consider themselves MORE "rightous" then Obama when he is happily married to his FIRST wife and is a raising a happy family.

I am very disgusted by all the trash that McCain does and to tell you the truth I seriously haven't seen one McCain commercial were I haven't seen him trash Obama. It seems as if his whole campaign isn't about what he will do for the country but rather about how bad Obama will do.


Sorry, I went way off topic, but back to the point I wouldn't be surprised if they DID use this as a last minute scare tactic. As our house has already received about four electronic phone calls about "Obama is friends with terrorists, we just want you to know this before you vote." and "Obama wants to make America a socialistic country, we just want you..." etc, etc. And once again, none of these phone calls said what McCain will do, just trashing Obama.

I don't think they will pull anything as low as attacking Obama in regards to his grandmother, etc. There's an unspoken rule (usually) about respecting the deceased; I really don't think they'll do anything.

It's such a shame that it happened one day before election day; If Obama does get the white house, it would definitely be a bittersweet victory.

If they were to attack Obama on the issue of his dead grandmother, it would be so incredibly damaging to their public image that it would probably have the opposite effect they'd intend. People might have believed that Obama was a secret muslim, but their stupidity has limits; they'll know that MY OPPONENT WAS TOO BUSY CAMPAIGNING TO MOURN HIS DEAD GRANDMOTHER is an exaggeration and a viciously low blow.

this is really shitty. i mean i'm sure it won't affect campaigning, but this is really gay, man. she was TWO DAYS AWAY from seeing if her grandson would become the next president.

also there's no way mccain or palin would TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS. unofficial conservative groups like the ones running ads calling obama a marxist maybe, but certainly not mccain himself or the GOP. mccain isn't a BAD GUY - he's just a questionable politician.
