EPISODE TWO
http://img53.imageshack.us/img53/9029/prologue5ky.png[/IMG]
The disaster which befell the Philosopher rebellion irredeemably disheartened the survivors. The seed of their defeat had been planted in the reckless underestimation of their enemy and the will of he who most sought their annihilation: Nostradamus.
Both Aeschylus and Aristarchus presumed dead, Augustine did as best he could to rally the demoralized remnant of the Philosopher fleet, but to no avail. Leaderless, the defeated rebels scattered.
Young Deucalion, however, had been marooned on Fiddler’s Green, and for seven months subsisted on what little food could be gathered from the now desolate island. His solitude, meanwhile, and an unfulfilled desire for vengeance drove him nearly to madness.

Events since Awareness Episode One:
It was impossible to hide the macabre details of the pogrom against the Sophists forever, and when information regarding it reached the public, the citizens of the Empire were disgusted. In an audacious display of pomposity, Pontifex Leo Pepin publicly threatened the Emperor himself with excommunication.
Believing the leadership of the Interim rebels to be dead and the goals of the pogrom largely accomplished, the Emperor declared an Armistice and allowed all Sophists within the Imperium safe passage to Eleusis Minor, a small port city along the Via Aurelia, where they could live without harassment. Nostradamus did not concur, and, against the Emperor's directive, used his influence with the Praetorian Guard to continue the pogrom in secret.
Meanwhile, the unexpected entrance of a new economic and military power into the political arena, the Utopians, threatens to unravel the Imperium's stranglehold over the continent, for better or worse.
