Wow, indeed, there's definitely some awesome family talent happening there. I love this stuff. Some of it looks like it could have come out of Courage The Cowardly Dog or something, except this stuff is way cooler. That bloody toaster is the shit.

I've always wondered how some artists are able to capture the creepier side of creativity--now I see it's genetic! But while I can't understand what's buzzing around in your mind, I like creepy/weird things :thumb:.

I don't really understand the whole thing about drugs personally.  When I used to get baked, I tell you if you asked me to draw a meaningless, amorphous scribble I'd still get it wrong.  I just don't know how people manage to connect with anything intellectual or creative while under the influence.  The only reason I'd ever get really wasted is to shut up that part of my mind for a little while so I could get some peace... I've come to terms with it more lately

People think it because the drawing or whatever resembles what they imagine a drug-induced hallucination might be like; bright colours and demons and trippy 60s wallpaper or whatever.

Well no you can't draw if your life depended on it when your under a hallucinagenic influence, theres no way you could keep the lines from moving off the paper and floating around the room.  The high is a double edged sword, it takes away all your motor function and ability  to communicate, but it gives you a deeper sense of being and creativity that you can only keep to yourself.  Its completely personal.  Pictures like that are whats developed to describe that strange kind of happy feeling from a world of your own creation, from a sober pov.

I'm not recommending that everyone go get shroomed because in my opinion most people are too stupid and can't seem to not let it destroy them.  However if you try it with intelligence enough not to allow it to become habit forming and consuming then the experience is something euphoric.

It's definitely an interesting experience but I can't say I've ever taken away anything from it that I've applied in a practical way, and it's certainly nothing like they depict it in a movie.  You can't really simulate the most important portions of a hallucination because it has a lot to do with proprioception and sense of space, time, self and consciousness.  Nor can you simulate the sensations of any other drug by showing it visually for that matter.  Yeah, drug scenes in movies are stupid.  Anyway.  It's definitely interesting, but not much good for artistic inspiration IMO, although the last couple of those acid trip drawings on the downswing are pretty neat.
