Anyone Want Music?

Well, we're moving, and I'm being forced to live without my Xbox for god knows how long.
In this time period I'll be in an apartment or hotel(w/e), with nothing but my computer and Finale.
I came up with an idea to fix the boredom problem, however!

I've decided to help the community, by providing free music by request in this topic.

-Just post a Setting, Time-Period, and Mood, and I'll see what I can do

Here're some samples of my work (Not for use)

-World Map http://www.box.net/shared/opwzezt440

-War Scene http://www.box.net/shared/ewedk6k8w8

-Boss Battle http://www.box.net/shared/fp3pmmopw8

Finished Requests!

Are you taking requests for video games?

If that be the case, this would fit better in Resource Requests/ or Analysis.

Actually, it's more just for my practice, being able to use the songs in games is a bonus for the request(or or er?)!

But if it must be moved, it must be moved...

That's strange... they're working for me, I'll see what I can do.

*Edit: K, links modified, I'm just getting used to Box.net, my apologies.  =D

Since I don't see any area I think would be more suitable for this topic (it's not resource requests, since the topic itself is not a request), it can stay.

Oh, I thought he was taking requests from people(Fuck I always get forums mixed up @_@). Never mind then!

Ok, so heres what I think:

Its a big World- I liked the calm serenity of this piece, yet the ending leaves
somewhat more to be desired. The double reeds were pretty good flowed
well.

Dramatic- A nice tune, heavily marching orchestral. All I can say about this
is that it HEAVILY reminds me of Hitoshi Sakimoto's work. Good stuff!

Battle for your lives- Nice for a decisive theme. Again, this sounds alot
like Sakimoto so I cant complain. Try making the accents a little more
vibrant, though and make sure when the winds and strings have a cadence that
the percussion has a smooth rhythm.

You are a better composer Ive heard lately! Be sure to hang around here
for a bit, its always great to have good talent.

May I ask your music background?

I've been playing Trumpet for 6 and a half years or so. Orchestral for all the time, while I prefer Jazz, which 've been playing for Five.  I'm entering my Sophomore year in highschool next year, and plan to be in the top Winds Ensemble.

And to Sounding like Hitoshi Sakimoto, I think it's from the time I used to spend everyday playing Final Fantasy years ago.  I grew up on the stuff, Speacially Final Fantasy Tactics. :]

Well I dont think you will have a hard time finding work here!

Ever try any synth based music before? Im interested into how you could make it sound.

Actually Yeah, I used to have some stuff on my old machine that was midi.  I really would look to find a nice set of Electric guitars and keyboards and such that's cheap to free.If you have any ideas I'll give 'em a try.

I do have a rock piece I slammed together for a friend though! (Midi sadly)

Some of the solo was screwing around though. xD It was FUN!

Hey nice stuff!  I love hearing other member's work, its refreshing to listen to all the different styles.

Hmm, the only thing that irks me is on It's a Big World when the reed instruments(oboe?) do a slide down.  Other than that, really good stuff!

they're all good. I really liked the world map song. I won't comment on them, cause I'm hardly an expert in music. :)
here's my request: setting:battle , time-period: modern , mood: tension, excitement.
battles in my game are like a friendly contest, so hopefully you know what I mean by 'exciting'. I'm curious to see what you'll come up with.

Exciting? Ooh.

I'll get to work on that!

I'll prolly have it done tonight if I don't procrastinate like always.

These sound awesome, the boss battle reminded me a lot of FFT and Shadow of the Colossus.

If you wouldn't mind, could i request a piece?

The setting would be near the lines of oriental with celtic mix to it. Something that has strings and flute. I wanted it to be more like a main theme to a game. Calm and smooth, but with an epic feel to it, much like Final Fantasy's Main theme over the years.

I think this is the basic stuff you asked in the first post. If further description is required please let me know. I'd love to see you pull this one off, those sample themes were very good :D

At Zeldrak: I have yours done, but I can't upload it right now, my computer's dying, and I can't charge it and be on the internet at the same time. *Wifi is too far away. -.-;

At Silver Wind: Battle music takes a little longer. As it needs more instrumentation and rhythms. x.x

Hey I've got one for you:

Setting: World Map
Time-Period: Fantasy-Epic (1700s is closest)
Mood: Starting deep and omnimous but progressing to a triumphant finale.

Additional Comment: It's Final Fantasy, please try and make it sound more from the 7-10 Era, when Nobou Umetasu actually had a say in what happened beyond the final song.
