Any comparative analysis on VX and XP?

I was thinking of seriously getting into learning my way around either one of these programs, and I only want to choose the one that I think is objectively the best. In terms of efficiency with code, ease of use, features... what do you think?

Something really helpful would be a side by side comparison of the two, pointing out key features and pros and cons. I've looked around all over various places and I've not found something of the sort. I don't imagine too much is known about VX just yet to make something incredibly detailed or in depth, but I am very interested. I would like to believe VX is the better program, on the virtue of it being newer, but sometimes this isn't always the case.

Any contribution to this analysis would be helpful.

The community is solidly split between opinions of XP and VX.

VX is very limited when it comes to mapping, and all of the workarounds presented would be realistically cumbersome. It only has three mapping layers, whereas XP has four. It is also limited on how many tilesets you can have and the size of those tilesets, XP is not. This effectively means that VX limits your creativity.

XP, on the other hand, is not as user friendly as VX is. It also does not display games as fast as VX does and takes a little bit longer to learn how to use. It also uses a bit more of a complex graphics system.

If you want to get into serious garage RPG making, I would definitely go with XP. If you want to design old-school RPGs that do not have much of a graphical influence, I would go with VX. That is pretty much the deciding factor.
