Any Card Players here?

I was wondering if any of you ever play any card games(Poker, Blackjack, etc.), either at home or at a casino. One of the reasons I've been inactive here is because I've been so busy playing poker at my local card club(Canterbury Park). I frequently play fixed limits of 2/4$, 3/6$, 4/8$, and 6/12$ once in a blue moon(More 2/4 and 3/6 lately, since I don't like limit). I also play survival tournaments there(faux no-limit cash games).

Does anyone else share my enjoyment of card games like poker and blackjack, and if so, what do you play and what limits?

Ah I used to play poker many many years ago, nothing massive though just a fun night with me mates and all.
Copper jar got raided and yeah it does sometimes get addictive, recently though I've never had the time to sit and enjoy.

Come to think of it I may still have the Live arcade game for the 360...

I play Texas Holdem, open table, but not too often, since I usually play $20 or $40, and that only lasts a couple of hours at my local casino. I also play small tournaments, $4 or $8.

I was in Las Vegas recently, and except for losing $1,500 dollars in a 2/5 no limit game, I broke even the rest of the trip. Anyone ever play down there?

Oh god if I ever lost that much money I'd just hate myself forever. I'm so cheap when it comes to gambling. If I lose 20 bucks it's like my night is OVER. ^^ I do like to play card games for fun. Although, I'm much too violent and aggressive over money to actually play for cash with friends. Black jack is a favorite for me over poker. What I don't really get though is how people can compete in tournaments... I mean there just seems to be a lot of luck involved if you aren't counting cards so I don't really get it. It's fun to watch on tv regardless.

Yeah, losing that much money does kinda suck. Actually, it REALLY sucks. It's such a large chunk of money. It is nice when you win it, though. I haven't booked a win that big yet(my biggest one session win is around $800). I've kinda been a break-even player lately, with the occasional decent win or the more frequent big loss.

I do play BlackJack occasionally, usually when I'm waiting to get on a poker table. Are you familiar with BlackJack Switch? It's a very new game that deals you two hands and let's you switch the top card. Haven't played it yet, but I might play it tomorrow when I go play.

Ah no I haven't heard of Black Jack Switch. That sounds interesting. Sorta like a split I suppose but with more control. Seems like a lot more strategy could be taken into consideration with this. Lemme know how it is if you play. I wonder if there's some kind of simulation I could try out of it to get familiar with the rules first. I'll have to look it up.

Also, I managed to book a $1,200 win last night playing no-limit Texas Hold 'em. It's the biggest one-night win of my life, so I'm happy obviously.

It's just one of the reasons I've been inactive in addition to others. But, to answer your question, I play three days a week for 10-14 hours.

I almost did that, but I decided to buy everyone drinks instead(I'm not sXe anymore, but we'll save that for another time).

actually one of my friends played a lot of online poker and it nearly paid for college for him. and then it became illegal or somehing idk the details. but i really wanted to get into it.

It's called Black Friday among online poker players. The US government shut down UltimateBet/AbsoluteBet, Full Tilt Poker, and PokerStars to US customers as part of an indictment involving the sites owners. They were indicted on fraud and money laundering charges.

I frequent my local casino about 3 times a week, roughly around £30 a night. Blackjack is my game, or a slight dabble on the Roulette tables. I roughly pull about £500 a night, I don't bring my debit card (Just the £30) and just have fun with the regulars. I'd say I lose about 1 in 3 nights per week and my biggest win would be close to £1.5k.

Eh, I don't gamble since I'm a poor dude, but I do play texas hold 'em with some dudes at school. Other than that and MtG like Des said I mostly play solitaire. I do enjoy blackjack quite a bit.
