Another try with tileset (not pixel art)

Looks good! Love the pictures and the light streaming in through the window, although the latter looks a little odd since it starts coming down from halfway on the window instead of the top. However, the character looks really out of place. If you're going to go with this look, you really need to do the entire game in this style, which includes the sprites. It's interesting to see something different, though! Good luck finishing it.

I see what you were trying to do here, and while it all meshes well, I find it particularly unattractive. It looks like everything's been coated in hot wax. If you want to stick with this, I'd suggest adding some texture/sharpening it up--it looks like it's been hit with the Smooth/Blend tool about 1200 times. Also, the black marks all over look more like oil stains than shadows. Don't use pure black, just use darker colors. And yeah, the pixel character doesn't go with it.

Not trying to be a turd; just an opinion. The painting and the light beams look kinda cool, though :)

Take it from the pixel queen; she's right.  Heh.  Pixel queen.  Heh...GOD I gotta stop hitting on her shes married oh god.

I agree though, it's very difficult for my eyes to adjust to the style.  One part of me is saying it's 'decent' but the other part is saying everything Venetia said. :(

A for effort though!  Keep trying to improve.

Yeah it's a good concept but there's way too much smoothing like Venetia said. I would take a look at how Dreams is done by Diegoal2000(I think that's his name excuse me if I"m wrong) where he uses drawn backgrounds as well but his sprites match his style. I'd sharpen it up and use waaaay less blur and then try to get it so the sprites match the style as well. I believe $3v0 had a technique of tilesetting that didn't use pixles as well. So might want to look into that too.

Thank you for the comments and yeah I will work on the sprite some also then :P
to match it better.
I will try to improve with this so I will add some more screenshoots later :D
thank you all for your comments

It is definitely a good start. However, it does need cleaning up. Its looking a bit "fuzzy to me" everything bleeds into each other.
I do hope yu keep at it though. Overall, it has a lot of potential. ;D

I apologize for my ignorance, but, what did you used to make this Tileset, if not Pixel Art.
It look really good, I like the style, and in my opnion the character is starting to match, I don't think it has the same style as the Tilesets, but again, I think it matchs.

Good work, keep it up.

thanks for all the tips I have got :D
And to Delmashio, what i did with this tileset is that i coloured it in photoshop like i coloured my paintings :P
Little hard to explain haha
I also trying to work with pixelart but i am not so good there yet haha
And to raven
I tried to look up
Diegoal200 and0 $3v0
to see what you meant but I couldent find them... :(
If you find them could you send me the link so i could see? :D
thanks ^^

As Stevo said, at least you are trying new things, custom, etc.  I like it..not perfect but I couldnt do it..hehe.  Just need to make sure everything in consistent in style..the books stand out to me as more sharp and not blurry like the rest..

Keep it up though :)

I love it when people experiment with different methods of producing tilesets. Love it! :)
I love it when you just pop out of no where. Smexy!

I like it, but I could only wonder how it would look full screen. I'm thinking it might strain the eyes after a while.

The characterset meshes well with the surrounding terrain. The arms are a little clumsy-looking, but we're not talking about your non-spriting. It's a nice unique look, and if you manage to pull it off I think it'll add a nice flavour to your game.

i prefers doubile-pano,(two pano in a map)tilesets is too small (256*n)and hard to draw big buildings
Please don't necropost - the last post was in January. Locking this. ~Gratheo
