another question

i'm trying to make a puzzle where you must bring several sheep to a shepherd using a dog.

once you find the dog he will approach you, this is already done
but now i want the sheep to follow me only when the dog is near the character

how can i do this?

also i can't find a way to resize the event block into larger squares.

please help me out

1st - you cannot resize the event blocks.

2nd - Assuming that you have been able to get the dog to follow you (or the dog is in your party somehow), this can easily be done by controlling a switch when the dog "joins" you. When you get the dog just turn switch "name of your choice" ON and then make a page on the sheep events that checks for that switch to be ON. When the dog leaves you, turn the switch off.

Thanks for your reply trainspotter. i've got the whole shepherd thing working now

if i can't resize them how can i trigger an event when a player walks in a certain area rather then just one square?
 
Create one event and have the trigger set to "Player Touch". Now set up your event and end it with "Turn Switch[SwitchName] ON. Now create a new event page, keep it blank, and set the condtions to "Switch[SameAsAboveSwitch] ON". Now copy and paste the event around the perimeter of the area you want the event to happen.
 
you can also use varibles that track the x and y coordinates of the player and the sheep(events). when they are within the appropriate tile distance to one another you can have the event trigger. assuming that the sheep are not stationary, you're going to have to either use this varible method, or you are going to have make the trigger on the sheep themselves by making the event start on player touch.

I'm away for the weekend, but if you need help i'll be happy to make a demo for you on monday.

thanks for your replies, ur solution about the events works pretty well, but i hope in the next version they'll add support for bigger event triggers.

i'd really appreciate it if you'd make a demo trainspotter cuz my attempt is buggy at best.
this is how it's supposed to go:
- dog stands somewhere in the field
- player finds dog
- dog follows player around
- sheep stand around wandering
- when player + dog are near a sheep it follows the player,
- when all sheep are returned to the shepherd player receives gold and sheep stay there
