Another one from me?!?! (lagging)

I'm about to make a part in my game where a character is getting attacked by TONS of little creatures. I want to do this, but I know the one major problem I going to run into....lagging. It happens when there are lots of events on one map...is there any way I can get rid of this...Those event anti-lag scripts won't work because these events are close together in one spot instead of outside the screen.

All depends on what kind of computer you are using, and what kind of computer you expect from the users. I think you'll be fine displaying 15-20 events on screen at once. Just cleverly do it, along with the anti-lag script, to make it so not all of them are on screen at once. There's no other way to do it.

The other way would be to combine multiple characters into one charset, so one event is really two or four enemies. You have to be careful with that though.

My anti lag script should theoretically give a faster collision detection. (It has done so in my tests)
This should give a decrease in lag even when all the events are at the same spot.
Whether it will be enough to remove the lag or not I can't really tell. You will have to test it to be sure.
