anime drawing - coloring

so I started to draw again after I finished off one of my sketch books... this time it was completely digital.... and I kinda like it... the rough draft though... After I colored it I wasn't feeling too well about this.

So I need your help on why the colors make it look bad... the shading, or the overall mistakes that you can find... (I kinda see that the colors are too saturated at points... am I right?)

Actually, it looks fine. aren't you being too harsh on yourself?
I mean, just play around with the colors saturation/lightness until you're satisfied, add more shades to each color, maybe shade the outline too, and you have a great character drawing :)

SilverWind. thanks for the advice, I guess I'll try out different colors until I'm happy... and hopefully make some use with those in any future drawings.

MotherGloria(?), well that's what my brother always says... and if you stare intently then yeah... there's something wrong with it... gladly I can just move it and I don't have to redraw it... By the right, you mean our right, and the characters left eye?

What always helps when I used to draw was to constantly flip the image horizontally, those parts where you're sure some thing is wrong but can't put your finger on it becomes clear.
Example being after flipping the face I noticed what was wrong with the eye, and just did a little pixel turn to show you what I mean:

Wow, you're right, that does help a lot! Never really considered that but I'll try it out whenever something looks wrong in the future... (unless it's on paper, then it might be a little harder and resource expensive to do it)

Hahahaha... well I was thinking about holding it up facing a light and having it sorta fade through to the other side of the paper if that makes any sense... But that's a good idea I guess... Haha!

update... kinda like the colors I picked for the hair... not liking the shine... any advice on that?

I think i'll probably have to redo the dress skirt thing so it matched the direction the person is facing... doesn't it look a bit awkward?

Not sure if the eye is better or worse... or untouched though...

Well... It looks like I got carried away and did something else -.-.... Might not want to finish this one later...

I decided to try to maybe cell shade this? I colored it... but then it looks ugly so I recolored it... if you want to see my first attempt at this just ask... Also i think this has some nice line art.

Any problems visible to any of you?
