[Animaton] Alterations Added (last mod: 9/11/08)

[Mascarpone]

Unbeknown to most of you, I've been slowly but surely trying to put together a little Tactics game (no there is no thread in the project development section, I'm not even close to ready.)

So I whipped up some of the effects for spells (I started big and worked my way down, flashy stuff is more fun) and Came up with a few of the Arcane (Highest Tier) spells and some buffing magic.

Lemme know what you think.

Please note that these are fore my own personal use and i would really appreciate it if you do not disassemble them and try to use them in your own projects.

Plus this new gif animator I'm working with Tags them anyways so that would be more difficult to do than before.

P.S. My magics are divided up into categories very similar to if not directly copying Magic: The Gathering lol.

i like the buffs, but for the others, i actually prefer the older ones youve done. i like the new feather effect, thats pretty nice.

I was trying to keep them a little smaller and less "look at how huge across the screen i am" what with it being a tactis game.


@mim's: Might not have one. I'm working with really small variables and a magic buff might be overpowered. I'm still balancing the systems.

Well, they looks great as usual, but one complaint I have would be that most of the attack spell animations have the same general animation style: A sphere swirling around.

It could use some more variety I think.

Also miss, i kinda hoped you had left more of a more constructive comment. Since when you say something you actually have something to say usually. Which is nice.

i don't see any real problems with them. it's not really pixel art so it's not exactly my field, and nothing really stands out as wrong. they look nice.

plus if you're a fan of magic you are a-ok in my book

They're all beautiful. My favourite ones are the "buffering" ones. My only real problem is the "Deluge" animation. It doesn't quite seem "watery" enough, instead looking more like wind magic. Plus it's kind of...weird looking. Doesn't seem to fit with the rest of your animations.

Keep up the awesome animations! (I love the animations in your RTP reformation projects, by the way. Awesome stuff  :thumb

Right. Some actual critique. These animations are really good. Some of them look good enough to be in commercial games in fact, and if you did this stuff completely from scratch I'm amazed. The various buffs in particular look great.

The only one that I'm not digging is the Tornado one. The animation seems slightly choppier than the others and theres too much brown imo.
