Animation Opacity

Where would I find the parameters for how battle animations are handled? It irks me that animations are bright and transparent, no matter what their settings are in the database.

Open the animations tab in the database. For an existing animation, click Cell Batch, click the checkbox next to Blending, then select Normal.

For a new animation, when you place the frame, double click on it and change the blending from Add to Normal.
