It's Kyran, folks!

Seeing as I hate the RTP I'm thinking about working with something like this. Its supposed to be imitating the spectacular "Seiken Densetsu" or Memory of Trees, posted here a little while earlier and I believe was destroyed in the hack attempt.

I haven't put the blur on them yet to smoothen them out yet, but that's mainly because I want you to see the basic sprite
 
It´s nice that way. Really, this is a breakthrough above RTP (that i think is really ugly too ^^). Looks more chibi than normal, but for me that´s a good point. It will only depend on the tilesets and the game´s style to know if it fits well (but i´m sure it is, somehow...).

It´s a bit different from the concept art i´ve seen about Kyran. The colors, mainly. Just maintained the red and spiffy hair (^^). About the poses, they´re nice too, but i prefer the third one for the dash/ run. Also, the idle stance is somehow strange. Looks like he´s aside you (or tending to fall to the left lol), and the feet doesn´t fit so well...

After all, i liked a lot. Good choice of colors too, just take more care in the shadowing part. Kudos to you Aran ^^

thanx, LT! but catually that is supposed to be a whole frame, i'll look for (or create ;)) a script that runs through more than 4 frames. As for the feet, yes, and I've been meaning to change them around a bit.

as for later production, i think creating the tilesets will be a lil bit more complicated...
 
Tilesets are always the worst part of spriting... I´ve tried quite a while to do a tileset for one of my games, but all of them were crap xD

I can do everything other than music, tilesets, game overs and battle systems ^^

Oh, i´m sure there´s some script somewhere that does that, permits more than 4 frames per animation. But with this hack attempt, things will be far more difficult to find... =p
 
it looks good
for added realism make the hair bounce, don't just copy/paste the same head on each frame and be satisfied, over all though I love the style!
 
That is awesome. Seiken Densetsu has always been my favorite (2D) style of spriting. I actually prefer the blurred style to the style you have now. I'm not sure why.
 
The running frames have issues.
See where you have the foot flat you should have the back foot going the furthest back, because that would be completing that step. Where you have the foot bent up, you should still have part of the foot showing, if you plan on doing your animation like that.

I Agree with TheInquisitor on the feet thing though, although I think you shouldn't have the hair bounce more than one or two pixels, else you risk too much movement there and making it look too... for lack of a better word, distracting.
