Advice to a college grad?

Why do people always come here for advice like that?

"I don't know what to do with my life. Could someone tell me what to do pleasea?"

I don't see a problem with seeking advice on a board you frequent. It's not like they're hanging on your every typed letter and'll completely change their decision based on the crap you say. But it's a quick and friendly way to receive opinions and perhaps information to make your own opinion more informed. It's a lot more effective than trying to hit up random people on the street for info, and sometimes what your small circle of family/friends has to say isn't enough.

Just because you'd like opinions doesn't mean you have to join a forum for every question you want an answer to, either. This is a general discussion board and if you've built up a rapport here, why bother going somewhere else for ideas? It's not like this forum turns off every switch in your head aside from the one concerned with gamemaking.

If you don't have any advice to give, then don't give any. Making a person feel dumb for asking when they've built up a sort of "relationship" with a forum (which anyone will, if they frequent it enough) isn't any way to treat somebody.

I'm still in college, but my question is do you have work experience already? Because if not I suggest you get started on that :').

A. off-topic, come on Venetia, at least put a blurb at the end about the guy's question, it helps to give a pretext to your rant and a 'IM ON TOPIC SHUTUP' to haters

B. seriously, it is a terrible idea to ask on this forum, populated by about 3 people that have graduated college and had the experience of what he's asking.

C. he needs to bloody well elaborate. Even a little bit!

EDIT: Holy shit addition to A. nevermind! I thought that was your signature beneath that line

Heh, I didn't realize how long that rant'd be. Sorry Andy! I put it in a spoiler.

And I agree he coulda elaborated, I'm just a little perturbed with folks who complain about people asking for advice. Who knows? Maybe the 3 people who have graduated here have advice?

No sense in everyone being so cold to everybody :')

All right, that's it for the OT stuff from me. [Maybe]
