Acrylic Painting, back to the roots

Contracted by some rich guy to do him a painting so here it is. Sold it for 3k. I built the frame then streached the canvas over it and did a triple prime on it. The painting itself is 50x60'' you can critique it but i cant really change it as the painting is gone. I got tired of seeing still waters and clear skies in every seascape i looked at so i thought i would mix things up again.

That's really cool, Bad. :D The clouds seem a little bright, but the wave is really well done.

seems to me the colors are off, i assume by the stars in the sky its at night, but the water and the clouds are much too bright. the waves are painted very nicely, but at the same time they seem to be out of perspective with the beach and skyline, they dont really foreshorten correctly as they move further to the right of the canvas, the water is beautiful, but looks like the view should be looking straight at the water and not at the angle you have the view set to. i like the way you did the lightning strike. but, i dont really particularly care for the clouds, they look a bit muddy and again the color seems off to me.

hopefully i didnt come across too harsh, because it really is a pretty nice painting, but it just seems to me (based of your other work ive seen) that you kind of went a little half ass on this piece

colors are lovely. the perspective gets a bit lost tho. the horizon bleeds together.

still a nice bit of acryilic. do you do layer work?
