Hiya this is a Template i've been working on for a little while now and i know it's not perfect heck probably not that good. But i know you guys have a great eye for detail so i was hoping you'd be able to help me out, with some comments and critisms.

And this is it

Magnified

Sorry it's only front view only at the minute but it does fit okayish with most graphics around.

Many Thanks
Matt

I like the narrower head as opposed to Ccoa's similar template and the standard templates we see. People don't have spherical heads. However I'm concerned that your mouth/nose area is a little too narrow, adjusting the shading or widening that area by a pixel or two would help. I would just do a head edit on an existing template at that scale unless you want to do the extra work for fun though : ) Oh also your eyes are slightly too close together, they should be about as far from eachother as one eye is across to be proportionate. Actually what you could do is just insert one line of pixels right up the center of the head, that would basically fix everything and in general I find having a one pixel center as opposed to an even split (like [][][] as opposed to [][]) works better for spriting, and if you notice your body is already centered that way which means your head is probably offset.

In particular, notice the eyes:

If you disregard the eyebrows, they're nearly identical except for one pixel.

It looks like you made my template 2 pixels wider, made the arms slightly longer, added eyebrows, recolored it, changed the shape of the head, and added some (slightly) different shading.

If you'd like, I can point out everywhere else it's the same or virtually the same. Like... the shading on the nose area. The highlights on the chest. The shape of top of the head and most of the arms. The hands. And so on. Or I could record the process of changing my template to yours. They're all pretty simple edits.

While they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, you've posted your intention to make a commercial game. That moves this to a whole 'nother level, pal. Before this gets any further, let me assure you that I would protect my copyrights in this case if you attempted to profit from my IP. I really don't think you want this to go there. Not only is this template not licensed for commercial use, it's isn't licensed for any use, period, right now.

I must say i'm sorry i didn't intenionally copy your template and i know you have no reason to believe me but i can't say otherwise as i would be lieing. I will re-work the template so you don't need to worry.

But i would like to make clear that i had nor have no intention to copy your work. I'm sorry for what has happened and hope you'll accept my apology.

Sorry
