A Pokemon Sprite

zoroakfin-2.png

I got bored and realized that this new 5th gen Pokemon didn't have a sprite yet, so I fixed that. It's called Zoroark.

C&C would be appreciated!

I think you'd benefit from simplifying the shading. Pokemon sprites only have one shadow color per hue.

Beyond that, your palette needs tweaking. A more contrast between the lights and darks would be good (normally I'd recommend a lot more, but you're emulating a style here), and you'll want more hue variation. Have the red shadow be purplish, for example. Another good trick to making your palettes look unified is to have all the shadows and colors ramp towards the same color (like, have all the shadows tend towards purple and all the highlights towards yellow or something).

Hope this helps somewhat!

But i think, when you see a sprite thats better, you can see what is wrong on your one

- that torso are to big
- the hair needs more structural
... i think to see a other vison of an sprite ,helps more than 1000 words

The problem I have with fixing the torso is because of the way Zoroark's standing in my sprite, his torso is obscured. As for the hair, I'm really trying to keep it simple and Pokemon sprites don't normally have overly detailed hair.

Well, in the pixeljoint one, I notice a big difference between how the hair is colored versus yours: the purple in the spikes is only present in the upper third of each spike, making it seem like dyed tips, whereas your purple covers the entire spike, making it look like tentacles erupting from a bushy red head of hair.

As for the shape, I'd mess around with the back leg. It seems...floppy.
