Welcome to HBGames, a leading amateur game development forum and Discord server. All are welcome, and amongst our ranks you will find experts in their field from all aspects of video game design and development.

A look back on your progress.

So the contest is finished in just over a week. Games are being wrapped up, debugged, finetuned and revised in preparation to be finished by December 31st. With the contest drawing to a close, I think it's a good time to look back, reminisce, and remember the trials and tribulations, as well as the breakthroughs, you guys had when working on your contest projects.

This thread is for sharing your progress over the past 2 months. It's been a rocky few weeks, with many people dropping out, and to be honest I'm not entirely sure who's still competing and who's not. But for those of you who are... Share!

Here are a few topics to start off with:
-What was your favourite part about making your game?
-What was the hardest part about the game?
-What part of the contest was the hardest for you?
-Do you feel satisfied with how your game has turned out so far?
-Do you feel the contest helped you develop as a game designer and furthered your skills?

Feel free to post any teaser screenshots or videos to show off!

Remember guys, the due date is December 31st, which means you still have 8 days to finish your games!! Good luck everybody!

Good question.

Anyway, as you say, there is still a few days left to the contest - the most important days, I'd say. Still a lot of things can happen, so I'm not going to answer all of this right away . Personally I already got what I intended : I learned a lot on the programming aspect of game making, how it works, how to manage data and all. The current code, although it works, is quite a mess, but at least know I now (for next time) how to make a good code.
