How can I make a picture of the character show up next to the text?

How can I make an icon of an item appear in text, when the character recieves an item?

Finally,

I'm wondering if there is a way to go into a cinematic mode... or a cutscene if you seriously dont know what a cinematic is...

1)  There are scripts for this-- I didn't find them on a quick look, but they can be found, and they aren't too complex.

2)  Some advanced message scripts can do this-- check the Forum Script listings. 

3)  Sadly, before I can tell you whether or not I can help you, I'll have to know what you actually want.

What do you mean by "Cinematic Mode?"  Do you want to show an animation?  Do you want to just have a classic RPG cutscene, where the characters are moving around on the screen?  Do you want a Disgaea-type cutscene with detailed portraits of the characters talking and moving around against a backdrop?

The answer to your question depends on what the question is, I'm afraid.

thanks for the first 2, when i say cinematic i refer to Cinema (movies) and yes animation of sorts i believe the first one is the one i want. How to have say the camera move over the map and back to you or something like that.

If you want the camera to move, use the "Scroll Map" command (located on the 2nd page). Here you can specify direction, speed, etc.

...but be sure to get the screen back to normal at some point, maybe teleport onto the map you were already on. Also, assign 1 variable per cutscene and have it increase whenever a graphic changes, then make sure your events are in order, nobody gets stuck blah blah blah...
