07 Your Best Bits & 08 Your Resolutions

Ok, so this is a fairly simple topic. What were your best moments in this most excellent year. I'm sure we all have some cracking tales to tell. Also, while we're at it, what New Year's Resolution have you got planned?

My best bits would be, fuck I don't really know. I've had a dull as hell year. I'll be all corny and say that finding a great set of friends and the most amazing girl I could ever ask for has actually been the highlights of my year. I've sort of found a place where I'm happy and comfortable.
I remember at one point me and some mates were being asked to leave Subway cause we weren't actually eating anymore so about ten of us left and as I left I gave a heart 'Good day!' right to the waitress, shortly after leaving I stormed back in dramatically, filled my cup with a refill of Sprite, and looked directly to the servers at the counter and in a louder voice gave a 'I said, Good day!'. It's stupid as hell I know, but I enjoyed the hell out of it.
There's so many moments I could think of with enough time that inlude me acting like a tit.
Standing outside a pub in the freezing cold in Glagow at night to watch the Scotland and France football gasme with two mates was immense. I'm not usually overlly enthusiastic about football, but I got caught up in it and belted out cheers like nothing on earth. My throat got me back the next morning :(

Anyway, as for a resolution. I sort of want to promise myself that I'll punch someone in the face next year. I want someone to cross me or irritate me so bad that I can take a big swing at them...No hidded frustration there :P

So anyhoo, what about you guys?

I don't do resolutions, as I find them annoying.  I don't see glory in a new year.  As a matter o' fact I actually HATE New Years/Eve.  I absolutely HATE that celebration with a mighty passion.

This year sucked for me.  All it's been is debt and squabbles.  This might've been the most screamingness head smashing against the wall year of them all.  2007 was evil.  And I'm sure 2008 will be one point more evil.

Other than getting modship on .org here, getting my comic project started up, and finally punching my father as an adult and not some 17 year old I was years ago, this year has -as I've stated- been amazingly over glorified and evil.

This year's been decent, I guess. Very boring. Next six years or so will prove to be 10x more boring (hubby in college/law school so I have to do everything chore-wise, sucky). Never got into doing resolutions or celebrating the new year--always seems pointless. If I can't remember what I ate this morning, how can I expect myself, in June, to remember something I said [while drunk] six months ago?

I guess I can safely list the normal resolutions of an adult female. Lose a little weight, buy some clothes, spend more time with the husband. Whee

@Venetia: Wow... lol.

I liked this year, I figured out RPGXP had a manual, and I read it.

Resolution: Make more scripts.

It wasn't all that surprising that '07 was a good year for me, ya know, seeing how 7 is my lucky number (hence the name Lucky 7). The main highlight of the year had to been in January, when I actually got RPG Maker XP. Then the next cool part had to been in May (I think) when I joined rmxp.org. Then last month, when I took up dancing. So.... yeah. It's also at times like this when I realise my life is boring...

As a rule, New Years' resolutions are kept until mid-February in which you either forget about them or think you can break them because no one else remembers that you made it in the first place...I don't think I've ever kept a resolution, although it's not that I often make them (possibly as a consequence of this small fact).

Never really done them before... I guess since this is my last year of high school, I'll stop making games, and knuckle down in school work. I'm serious.

I really need to devote my time to doing worthwhile things, so that I can obtain my Senior Certificate, and earn a higher OP. That means I'll be less active next year on .org. Sorry guys, but that's the way it has to be.

What a depressing New Years resolution.

Oh, and to get into a relationship that doesn't suck balls.

Why would you not want that. :O Naughty.

The best part of '07 was definitely when I got to(finally.) leave my home state, and visit some relatives up in Ohio. I finally got to meet all of my aunts, and uncles, and cousins, and such.

I had never seen mountains before, and I was in awe when I first lay my eyes on them.

I don't usually make any New Year's resolutions. Mainly because I always make resolutions, all throughout the year, but I never keep any of them. Lose more weight, go out to places more, learn how to stop sucking at math. Yeah... none of those ever pans out, quite right.

The best part of this year would have to have been moving.

My resolution is to work hard and have myself prepared for school when September comes.:|

Well, it's hard to say if ol' 07' was good or bad for me. Let me tally this up.

Good

Went to the smokies in Tenesee

Got a new DS

Found out that I actually made good in math

And I got a new girlfriend

Bad

Was diagnosed with diabetes. Sucks for me.

Got a whole load of the evil teachers in a new grade

My old SP got stolen

Aaaand I lost my new girlfriend... :-[
...
...
...
So there you have it. four good, four bad. 2008 might be better, though. To 08'!

2007 was well... how should I put it? A very, very tragic year in many aspects! Not so much personally, but worldwide, and locally for me, 2007 has just been intensely tragic! But alas, I'll list the Good first, then the Bad.

Good:
Lost 20 lbs baby girls!
Successfully stayed with my gf all year! (14 months and running)
Fixed up my car so it's ready for Sacramento when I move there next year
Got a Wii from my gf
Got closer with mah bros. (friends, I don't have any actual brothers)
Finishing up my undergrad work in College! Getting reeeeeal close to recieving 2 Associates Degrees and a Certificate in Applied Anthropology this coming Spring.

Bad:
Three of my classmates from my graduating class died this year. One drowned, one died of terminal illness, and one died by accident. Not so great....
I'm a POOR college student! lol no worries tho'!
Virginia Tech Massacre...
The Angora fire happened here in my hometown of Lake Tahoe! Lots of my townsfolk lost homes...
SoCal Fires...
My best friend got into a really bad car crash on the Freeway in Sac. He's okay now tho' but damn...
My friend's mom died
My mother continues to be the typical filipino mother, and assumes it's my fault for all of her shortcomings!

But rather than linger on the bad of 2007, I'm really looking foward for 08', lots of changes are going to be happening, so I cannot wait to see them transpire. I begin a new life on my own next summer, so I'm prepared and in that mindset now to finish up what I need to do to better myself.

What's my resolutions? Most of the time when I make these resolutions, I usually don't keep them, so I won't "officially declare" a resolution, but I will say this:

I WILL get Chasing Citsuaki worked upon. If at the very least I crank out even a Tech demo of the battle system, I'll be proud of myself. Also, I'm going to continue working out everyday (or mostly everyday) and get back to being slimmer. I don't mind being a big hunk of sexiness, but sometimes big can be TOO big. ;)

That being said, I hope everyone has a great end of the year, and here's to the new one, eh?

    • Hmm, well, this year...

      The Good:
      • Became closer to many of my friends
      • Actually was employed as a composer (which is an awesome step towards doing composition professionally in a bigger sense)

      • Picked up 2 new instruments, piano and violin
      • Graduated from high school
      • I'm getting closer to getting an AA in music at community college and transferring somewhere (not sure where yet), and some of my friends who are older than me are still in high school...
      • Got a tablet and a really nice package of software instruments for around $300 as a graduation present
      • Met some really inspiring people
      • Performed music in front of a decent sized audience
      • Started learning jazz guitar

      The Bad:
      • My parents have been having marriage issues (though they have been together for 20 years, it could be much worse)
      • I've drifted apart somewhat from some of my friends

      • I haven't finished anything in RMXP, and I only recently began working again on a project
      • I've had terrible luck with women this year... errrgh. Other years have been okay, but this one takes the cake for the worst. I won't go into why, but lets just say I made very bad decisions in who I turned my attentions toward.

Overall, it's been a pretty good year, though there were some bad things. As for a resolution, I almost always forget mine, but I'll probably resolve to try to actually get a steady income job this year, as well as finishing some sort of RMXP project. I've only released one demo, and that was ages ago...

And @JD: Sacramento... I know several people who live there. It'd be weird if you ended up meeting them.

The good
* Got a boyfriend I've managed to stay with for nine months.  No idea how that happened.
* Got myself a Wii.
* My first income tax return was pretty sweet.
* Made nice with my mom, and ended up enjoying myself over her house a couple times.

The bad
* With all the money getting that income tax return done myself, I may as well have paid someone else to do it.
* The fucking douchebag that my land lady calls a grandson stole my GBASP and got away with it.
* My father got a girlfriend.  Normally this wouldn't be a bad thing if he didn't act like more of a teenager than I ever did.  I think catching them banging in the backseat of her car really over did it.

The ugleh
* After a little more than a year of slaving away at the pit known as WalMart, I ended up getting fired for "insubordination" and "destruction of company property".  The former could have been prevented if the douchebag manager left me alone like I told him to, and the latter was utterly bogus.
* Still don't have a job.
* Spent all of New Years last year in the hospital with bronchitis on top of some severe stomach virus.  I'm still paying off the bill for it.
* Nearly ended up tossed out of the house because I told my dad what a fucking asshole he was.

This year sucked balls.

* I actually commited to a project

...That's all I can think of...
I don't have a good memory...
Well, I do...
But like...
I can't remember birthdays and stuff...
But I can remember quotes perfectly...
And the answer 123456789 x 123456789...

I guess mentioning that her car is the same car that she teaches sixteen year olds how to drive in would really break CIPWM's brain, hunh?

Damn! That's pretty crazy. You know Atemu you remind me of this "rival" I had when I was younger. (We were rivals in artwork, games, etc.) I can't really put a finger on it, but something about you resonates with her personality and stuff. I dunno. Being random.

HAPPY NEW YEARS! *runs*

Atemu, why must you always top anything sort of dysfunctional stories that any ever posts, ever? Also, before they get posted. I suppose that could be taken as a compliment: Your stories always top 'em all! Does that work?  :P

Also, I forgot that this year was the year I got my DS. I forgot, because my grasp of time is looser than Paris Hilton. :O
