Prologue
"Run, Escape while you can" The prisoner said.
The cell was dark, a bit wet and very cold. But suddenly, it ended. The voice of the prisoner became a distant mumbling. And Adam woke from the dream. Alarming, even a bit scary. Adam didn't believe in such things as prophecies. Still, his heart was beating twice as fast as it normally does. Aware of the fact, that he could not fall asleep again, he turned on the light and dressed himself. It was early morning, still dark outside. God had decided to wait a few more hours before waking up the holy city. Obviously, someone wanted different. The piercing sound of tires against concrete, rose from the streets. It was not one car, it was many, and they had stopped. Adam approached the window, to have a look. There were soldiers, plenty of them. Effectively they surrounded his house, and prepared themselves to enter. The prisoner's words still rang in his ears. "Escape while you can." Apparently, his time was up. Swearing to never more ignore the power of dreams, he ran towards the door. He had not done anything illegal and he had no idea why the soldiers were here. But he was now convinced, convinced by the dreamman. He should have done as he asked him to at once, to run and escape while he could. He didn't want to do the same mistake again. Adam fled.



Storyline
Adam's life changes when he start to receive strange visions in his dreams. He dream about a man in a prison who tries to warn Adam, and tells him to flee while he can. Not much later Adam understands why the man told him to flee, and is forced to leave his family and his home. He soon discover that living in the streets of Vatican city is more dangerous than he believed. Especially when he is hunted by an ancient community of great wealth and with more power than the publicity knew. Hunted for unknown reasons, by an unknown enemy.

the game is made in RPG maker XP and will be using an ABS (active battle system), the game will focus more on storyline than fighting though. :box:
 
Hmm. This actually sounds pretty decent, especially for your first project. A word of caution, though: Be careful when using two different types of tilesets in the same game. It's hard to avoid when you're just starting out, obviously, because it's convenient. But later on when you start getting the hang of things a little more you'll want to start picking tilesets that are more similar to one another. Or, if you want to go the extra mile, learn pixelling and making the tilesets yourself. The reason I say this is because I see you're mixing the RTP with other tilesets. There's quite a bit of difference in the way they were made, so they look a little bizarre in the same game, but like I said it's your first game, so nobody will berate you for it.

Maybe you could tell us some more info on your characters!

it's great to have an in-depth plot that drags the player in and immerses them. But remember, you're making a game here. Keep in mind that if we wanted story and nothing else, we'd probably read a book. You'll want to actively keep the player interested with gameplay. As the old saying goes around here, "Gameplay > Story".

I think you should give us some battle system information (if existent), since that is one of the first things I look at. In addition to this, how about some more screenshots? This game does interest me somewhat, I just need more information as far as gamplay mechanics. It would probably get you more responses as well.
 
ok, i will add some more information.

it is difficult to post more screenshots at the current stage since i am still in the phase where i design graphics and completes the storyline, i have very few maps to show.
 
I'd like some more screen shots, please.I'm interested in fact that your hero isn't the little whiny, secluded bitch like most games seem to feature. This guy, while young, has a odd talent for understanding people; a interesting aspect I'd like to see developed.

The Story really got me in this game, personally i have not played a game with a story as this, so for ME!, this sounds original and non-cliched, as this isn't another one of JRPGs we tend to have at RM,(guilty as charged) as for the character biographies it looks like you don't have the all over powered guy/funny/"insert something here". I like the looks of this game, as it think its an Action game rather than an RPG.

Mapping: Mapping sometimes seems to be good and sometimes seems to be a bit off, like:

that one lacks a lot of details into it, cause it seems that you have like just putted everything on the sidelines, while there is the Linear Road up ahead.

This one is a lot better than the other, cause you have like gotten the mapping spot on, as well as you have managed to add the Atmosphere there, which is some dead people and for some reason i feel like it looks like todays world, good job on that one

Cant really tell about the gameplay like battling, cause i have not gotten to see any battle pictures so i don't really know what you're going to do there. Blizz ABS sounds fitting for this game, but as long as it is an ABS i think it can fit for this game nicely

Hmmm.. really not much to comment on, seeing how the detail on your story is vary minimal and vague. However, I even with the little details you share this could possibly be a great story, depending on how you flip it.
You could at least leave more information about the main characters and their past and/or future objectives.

As for mapping, I like the newer maps a lot more then the older ones. One thing I've learned, concerning the second screen shot, is that congestion is better then realistic spacing. Unless the map has a lot of things to hold, it would be best to tighten it up.

The two songs you have posted are OK, I like the first once, it fits the assumed mode of your game. (Assuming your game is dark since you have very little story to share). The acoustic version is good as well but might I suggest that you use a higher pitched piano tone for the second half of the the song (almost like a music box but not as high). I think it would sound a lot better.

Other then that there is not much more to say since you have so little to share, but if you can flip the story to some sort of "Da Vinci Code" Vatican conspiracy theory, then I would definitely to play your game since I love those kinds of stories.
