Dead Content The convent [FULL GAME]

Dead content awaiting restoration.
This is my fist completed game like EVER, I'm glad I finnaly decided to finish this one.
The convent is a short horror-like game, where you have to search for your sister inside a convent.
The game is more about finding stuff and solving puzzles than anything (there are no battles)
I think the whole game takes around 40mins-1 hour to solve.
Story:
You start the game entering an old and probably abandoned convent, searching for your sister, that entered it and hasn't yet returned...
but you start realizing that the convent isn't really abandoned, and that a mass murder happened in there years ago.

Characters:
Jake: the main character, he enters the convent looking for his missing sister...
Hanna:the main hero's sister, she seems to have been captured inside the convent.
Sister Hellen: she's the only nun that still lives inside the convent, she thinks that the ghosts are a test from god, that's why she doesn't run away...
Sister Rose: A particularly dangerous ghost that lurks inside the convent, better stay away from her.

Features:
Mostly custom graphics (most of them are edited textures and stuff found on the web, made into tilesets.
Mostly custom music: All of the few tunes in the game are custom (except for one that I forgot to change, but it's played just in a short event)
Edited menu and other scenes, edited by me, I don't think I used any scripts made by another person.

I hope everything works fine, I haven't uploaded a rmxp game before...
If you have any problems, just tell me.
You don't need RMXP or the RTP to play it, I added everything in the gamefile. (I encrypted it though, I hope that's ok)

I'm not exactly sure wtf I downloaded and ran there, but it's certainly not a RMXP game.

(can't see your screens either)

what? that's weird was sure , I was sure I uploaded it in rapidshare... I'm not at home right now but tomorrow I'll see what happened, about the screens, I used the [ img][ /img] tags, Is there any other way to show them?

Fixed the screenshots and the demo itself, also cleaned the gamen up a bit and deleted unused files, the download now is around 13 mb

wow, since i saw screenshots of this months ago, i've been avidly waiting for it.
This looks amazing and im downloading it right now, I cant wait to play it.

I'll review it a bit later :)

EDIT:

ok i got up to this part

Where theres the basement room with 3 switches, and one wont move

I'm too tired to carry on, but overall this game is great.
The ambience matches the mood, and creates a very scary feel.
The graphics all match well together, and provide a creepy atmosphere.
The puzzles are a little hard to work out, but they're easy if you have keen eyes.

I'm very impressed, i'll play more of it tommorow :thumb:

I'm glad you liked it so far, I think I managed to get a scary feel with it, which was my intention, I'm glad I was right.
about the part you mentioned:
each switch opens a door, you'll have to find out what door it is...

It was a fun little game. Too bad it was so short. I was expecting more, but I guess theres only so much you can do in one building.
I did get stumped in a few places, but it makes me feel smart when I figure out a puzzle or riddle.

I'm glad you liked it, the main reason why I made it that short is because I wanted to actually finish one of the many games I start... At least now that I know I can finish a game, I might make a similar one but longer, who knows?
Glad to hear that you got stumped, but managed to solve all the puzzles, I wanted them to be difficult, but not impossible.

those switches open doors in the second floor, you must get there before, to get to the 2nd floor, you have to guess the numerical password
I advise you to always keep checking old rooms when you're stuck.

english isn't my first language, so I tend to have some spelling and gramatic mistakes once in a while, I guess next time I'll ask a native english speaker to correct the errors...
About the plot, what's there not to get?
SPOILER:
The nun was a ghost too, she and the skull headed ghost were the same person, just getting some fun out of you

I am completely stuck with the basement puzzle. I don't know what doors are supposed to be opening...

edit: Never mind, you figured it out
Go back to the library, something fell to help you get through the locked door which leads to the other doors.

added a direct dowload besides the one from rapidshre, becuase I got several pm's about not being able to dowload it before...
considering this game is finished, shouldn't it be moved ot completed games forum?

Sorry to bump an old topic, and I'm sorry such a good game got overlooked.  I'm putting it in it's proper place now, but Craybest, I have one request if you're still around: can you make the first post a little more presentable?

REALLY good game. Kind of a lame ending, I was expecting more to happen, but oh well. I still loved it =) Noticed a few spelling errors, but no big deal.

Can't wait for you to make another, there was a bit unexplained in the game. Maybe if you made another you could explain more.

I love these games. It seems there is a new genre taking off in this community of shorter, more puzzle and story oriented games. Thats how it should be. :D Great Work!

That was very enjoyable. It was nice to see a game where combat was
not the focus. I have one bit of constructive criticism for you that hasn't
been explicitly mentioned:

You did a good job at building tension during the game, only
to throw it away with the "joke" ending. (The attempt at humor)

You might consider throwing that part out, and leave the ending suitably
creepy. From a narrative perspective, it's very jarring and ruins what
you have spent so much time doing.

I think it would make the story that much more compelling and enjoyable.

Lastly - you might consider leaving the story open ended, to permit a sequel.

Over all though - very enjoyable. You were actually able to make me
see beyond the fact that this was an RMXP game.

Respectfully
