You're supposed to spend a good 500k+ on runes and just kill every white blip on your map! D:
Seriously, magic > everything, especially when you can hit 40-50's in one shot (Which is now 400-500) with the higher level spells, sometimes more depending on the armour of the other players.

My younger brother is a Runescape fanatic. Tell me; how is the game on its own merits (not compared to WoW and the like)?

It's very repetitive, like all MMOs, but it can easily become addictive(it got me in for about 5 months in my younger days). There isn't a whole lot good about it, although its quests are actual scenarios and some of them are fairly neat, and there aren't many "Kill X Ys!"(there's a whole skill for that stuff instead).Feldschlacht IV":373ns0zq said:

I used to play Runescape a few years ago when my friends got into it, was even a member for a few months. But then I stopped because my friends stopped and it got pretty boring, basically. Didn't have time to keep anything worthwhile up, haven't really gotten into an MMO since. I understand why people like playing video games but I honestly don't get how people can spend so much time playing MMOs. They're addicting, yeah, but if you're spending more than an hour a day playing it then it's too much imo. vOv
But yeah, Runescape. Is it still 99% 12 year olds or have the demographics changed a little?

An hour a day? Who restricts themselves from doing something they like to an hour a day, even with stuff like work and school and other obligations? Some things by their very nature takes more than an hour to do, like movies or working out.
Yeah lol, and even though trading is coming back, the prices of some items have plummeted in the Grand Exchange...
I logged in earlier today to have a look around, and full Rune (g) was going for 1.8m... I bought it for 3.7m like a month ago, I don't think the price would have halved that quick without this referrendum, lol. Oh well, I'll just wait until the wilderness is back properly, let people wear it and die, then I can sell mine higher... maybe. (Does not want to sell...)
