Homepage Redesign

I've got to rebuild the homepage, as it was one of a couple of files that didn't back up properly.

I thought I would take the opportunity to redesign it a bit. At the moment we have the left and right hand bars for navigation, and then the middle is taken up by five huge articles. It doesn't do much to introduce or explain what we're about, and it doesn't provide all that much content.

I've decided to ditch the screenshots feature in favour of grabbing them from the new screenshots gallery and the logos from the complete games section.

Here is what I have so far:

^&*(!&*(*. I can't for the life of me get the screenshots bar to work how it did before.

I have a 100% width div, with a 2000px div inside it, with overflow-x: hidden; on the containing div. But try as I may, it always expands the 100% div to be 2000px wide.

Does anybody know why this is? I'm going to struggle to make a fluid layout otherwise

Looking at the source in chrome shows that your content inside that div is all being treated like it was already at 2000px. I think you nested something wrong possibly.

I haven't done CSS in a while, but from the looks of it, the div is regarding all the content inside as part of the 100%...

Possibly break down the div into small subsections of that main body div.

edit: essentially there should be more divs inside there. hope it helps. I haven't done that stuff in a while. It's making want to go look at the source code for some site I made back in the day

I removed it as most stuff in it was duplicated. Although I think I will add latest threads / resources / posts to the homepage.

I have a feeling the homepage isn't meant to widen based on browser width.
From memory, a while ago it was a fixed size, possibly before the big accident.
