Mad props to GameOverGamesProduction for this sweet globe for Hero's Realm world map.  Check it out because it is awesome.

Enjoy!

Awesome game. Only played it to chapter two and I haven't had a chance to finish it yet.

EDIT: Also, that boss in the Dilithrum Cave. He takes a REALLY long time to kill. My party was Lv 5 black mage, black night, and druid. He doesn't seem to attack that often just transforms to the form that's immune to physical attacks, and my party was mostly out of MP.

This looks really good.
You must have put alot of hard work into it.
Im downloading it now, so ill tell you what I think later.

Any idea how many hours of gameplay there are?

Anywhere between 15 and 40 hours, believe it or not. (I had no intention of making a game so long when I started this project back in 2006. Even more remarkable is that I know of dozens of people who have finished it. And some are playing again.)

DOUBLE POST UPDATE:

The FAQ and Hints page has been updated.

I've updated the frequently asked questions to include some of the trickier and more common questions about playing the game. If you are stuck, check there for hints. If your question isn't answered there, head on over to Hero's Realm's RMN gamepage and post a question in the comments. I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Some people have expressed an interest in a detailed walkthrough of this game. Is anyone here interested? (Has anyone here played it?) Let me know.

A while back I was interviewed by a writer from Hyper Magazine regarding RPG Maker, its community and my personal experiences with it. He told me that it was for a future article on the greater RPG Maker community for his Australia-based magazine.

Two months later Hyper Issue #203 hit the shelves and lo and behold the article was published! Since it is not sold where I live, SGCN had kindly purchased the magazine and scanned in the relevant pages. I have re-uploaded the file here for your leisured reading!

This article is really good - much better than I was expecting (or was it fearing?). Liam did a good job overall at giving the community a fair shake, and juxtaposing commercial and non-commercial activities. All the interviewees gave great, honest answers that really reflect well back on the RM community.

It looks like that along with me, Drunken_Paladin and harmonic were interviewed by Liam (the Hyper writer), with DP giving it the creative outlet angle, myself going on about nostalgia, and harmonic giving his commercial venture perspective. Actually, I was surprised at how like-minded we are in a lot of respects!

All in all it is a great article! Thanks Liam, and thanks Hyper!

Great that a serious and big magazine like Hyper Magazine gives this amount of interest in the rm community and it's games. Though, I think games like Quintessence and Vacant Sky should be in that little top 5 as well. ^^

There are probably loads of games that are worthy of a feature, but the 5 they picked are pretty good and not bad choices. Perhaps Exit Fate ought to have been mentioned.

That looks pretty awesome, I really have to play that one. You don't see alot of those old school games around anymore.

EDIT: Oh shit, last post was 17 august. Didn't know the 20th? topic in this forum was so old. I had no intentions to make this a deliberate necropost.

Im playing it just now and the only problem its the low challengue. Im in chapter III and the medical herbs are clearly overpowered, that can work in a DQ with a limited inventory but with this it makes the game too easy.

Anyway my real problem are the bosses. You can save in dungeons so they dont have to be like DQ bosses that had to be easy because you had to do the dungeon without saving...

Any of the bosses have killed me and i took all off in a few attacks.

Also although the chapters idea is nice, i think you had to add new items and equipment in each of they, and even monsters, because it gets boring to do same things each time...
